The dissolution of a marriage can be taxing at best, but when children are involved, the situation can be an emotional roller coaster that doesn't seem to have a brake. Some Texas parents will, in extreme cases, use the children to inflict hurt and guilt on the other parent, causing a significant rift in the family dynamic that leaves ripples for miles. The anger and hurt can build up, and the children witnessing these emotional ploys are left to wonder where they really stand. Child custody can be a mud-slinging circus or a smooth transition when families work together and keep the kids best interests at heart.
Recently, a spotlighted host has splashed the headlines with his divorce and now his struggle to keep his three daughters. With his personality and views aired regularly on TV and the radio, the host stands to a scrupulous interrogation with regard to viewpoints and stances on certain issues. These issues are what his wife claims make her the better parent.
The wife is being touted as a psychopath that is constantly medicated. All the while, she maintains that her ex husband's access to money and being able to rub elbows with the elite have her cast in an unflattering light and set the children against her. She continues to maintain that his abuse, neglect, angry outbursts and lack of interest in the children render him unfit.
Even in a case where one or both of the parents are a celebrity, the children are the ones who could pay the price. Money can buy excellent legal counsel and hire the most renowned doctors, but it should not buy a child custody battle. A Texas parent who is facing a separation or divorce could seek affordable legal counsel to help lay out a potential child custody and child support plan that is enforceable and has the children's best interests at heart,
