Child custody cases do not just hit Texas residents

Bringing a child into the world is one of the most breathtaking experiences for most parents. Sadly, sometimes an innocent child gets caught in the middle of two parents who were not in a happy or healthy relationship and a child custody case may be the outcome. Not only do people in Texas go through these situations, but infamous icons are also not immune to these cases.

A report indicated that the famous rapper Ludacris has recently become part of a custody and child support case shortly after the birth of his child. The infant has not yet even reached three months of age. However, the rapper has already been hit with a child support request by the mother for the amount of $15,000 per month.

Even though the rapper may seem as if the career he has chosen has worked out quite well for him financially, his reply to the claim for child support reveals that he allegedly told the judge that the amount the mother has requested is unreasonable and that he cannot afford it. In return, Ludacris has filed his own claim and requested sole custody as well as child support from the mother. While the amount of $15,000 each month may seem extensive to some, it is not yet clear how a judge will view this request.

Parents in Texas who find themselves in this type of situation may not know what to do or how to handle the circumstances. Many parents may find that fully researching their rights under the law could help them navigate the process with more confidence. Regardless of the terms of any child custody or support cases, the child’s best interests should always be kept in mind.
