Marriages are not set in stone. Most people get married in Texas and do not know that their marriage will one day end. Ending a marriage is not necessarily a bad thing, however, because people change, and when this happens, couples may grow apart instead of growing together. Having a prenuptial agreement ensures that, if a marriage unfortunately ends in divorce, both parties have already agreed to the terms of the divorce so that the end of the marriage can go smoother.
But how does one know when it is time to end a marriage? There are some signs to look for that may indicate that a change has occurred and it is time to go separate ways. First and foremost, if a partner cannot be trusted, it is a sure sign that something is wrong. Being able to trust that a spouse is where they say they are and with whom they say they are with is a must in a solid relationship.
Secondly, not being able to commit to planned events is a sign that a partner is not committing to the relationship as well. Sure, visiting the in-laws may not be a pleasant experience for some, but bailing on a weekend vacation with a spouse can be a red flag. Another red flag can be diminished communication. If daily phone calls and intense conversations are a thing of the past, it may just be time to say hello to a new beginning.
Saying goodbye to the person one has been married to can be life altering and sometimes emotional. However, having the prenuptial agreement in place prior to making the decision to divorce can definitely make the end of a marriage an easier situation to handle. It is often better to end a Texas marriage on predetermined terms so that each individual can start their lives over without the hassle of going through what might otherwise be a difficult divorce.
