Divorce is a tough pill to swallow on most occasion, since itt can bring out both the best and worst in many people. Divorce can be made even harder when there is a child custody situation involved and even harder still when it is happening out in the open for the whole world to scrutinize. Recently, Texas residents have been able to read about the well-publicized separation of Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas.

Catherine Zeta-Jones and long-time husband Michael Douglas are currently going through divorce proceedings after an almost 13-year marriage. News sources are saying that Catherine Zeta-Jones apparently cheated on her husband; however, it was Michael Douglas that was pictured courting another woman. Either way the couple has decided to go their separate ways and have made that decision public.

It was reported that they have filed for a legal separation and have made the statement that they will be preceding with the divorce. It has also been reported that going through the process of figuring out who will get custody of their two children is looking like it will turn into a nasty battle of child custody if they cannot come to an agreement. Both spouses have their share of personal struggles at this point: Catherine has been reported as being bipolar, which includes mood swings of highs and lows; and Michael is currently fighting throat cancer.

Many Texas residents know that sometimes divorce becomes an inevitable prospect. Divorces where child custody has to be determined can leave people feeling overwhelmed and even helpless. When both parents want to have custody, sometimes obtaining representation is necessary to make the process smoother and easier to deal with; for everyone involved, especially the children.
