Divorce in Texas; good reasons to get a prenuptial agreement

When most people fall in love and get married, often they just want that feeling of blissful happiness to stay around forever. The future can not always be planned, though, and marriages sometimes do not work out the way individuals expect. People in Texas and all around the country can save themselves some potential divorce hassle by simply getting a prenuptial agreement early on.

According to recent studies, the reasons for divorce have made substantial changes throughout the decades. Back in the 1970s, it was more common for women to file for divorce, but now men file just as much as women. People also more commonly site the reason they filed for divorce as unreasonable behavior. These behaviors reference things from spousal guilt trips to being not-so-good in the financial department.

Reports also indicated that, in the 1970s, adultery was cited as the catalyst in 29% of the divorces filed. In the current studies, the number of adultery-related divorces has dropped to almost half that amount. In contrast, divorces caused by unreasonable behavior have skyrocketed from just under 30% to now being the cause for nearly half of all divorces.

Regardless of the reasoning for the divorce, there is no need to have more difficulties than necessary. Divorce is a hard enough pill to swallow without having to deal with the stressful ins and outs of the whole ordeal. Many people in Texas, as well as individuals throughout the nation, are choosing to obtain a prenuptial agreement to protect their premarital assets and to simply help make the divorce process easier.
